Chung-Yuan Yu
Biography
Chung-Yuan Yu, taiwanese composer, born in Taipai City in 1984. His compositions were performed by orchestras and ensembles such as Ensemble SurPlus(Freiburg), Formalist Quartet(Los Angeles), National Symphony Orchestra(Taiwan Philharmonic), National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Chinese Orchestra, Taiwan Viola Chamber Ensemble, Chamber Philharmonic Taipei,Taipei Civic Symphonic Band, Symphonic Band of National Taiwan Normal University in the recent years.
His music works were rewarded in the “Culture and Literature Award of Education Ministry”(Taiwan, 2007) and the first prize in the “ Composition Competition of National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra” (2013). In 2014 he obtained the scholarship for the advancement of new blood in Berlin, “Elsa-Neumann-Stipendien des Landes Berlin gemäß dem Nachwuchsförderungsgesetz (NaFöG)”. Since 2016 he works as associate professor on composition and music theory at Quanzhou Normal University.
