Programme Notes

    Composed for the national orchestra, this work draws inspiration from the music of India, which is known for its wealth of culinary spices. Strong, distinctive, spicy flavours, typical in Indian food became the source of inspiration for this piece. Quite a number of melodies and rhythms characteristic of Indian music are employed here to express the colourful fragrance of Indian spices.
